Refreshing Peppermint Shaving Bar

This Refreshing Peppermint Shaving Bar is the perfect gift for the mustached men in your life. A swirl of Bamboo Charcoal Extract exfoliates away dirt and pollution while Kaolin Clay and Glycerin soothe and hydrate freshly shaved skin. This bar produces a creamy, dense lather that is perfect for shaving, especially when used with a shaving brush.

TOOLS:

Hot Plate or Microwave

Beaker or Mixing Bowl

Soap Molds

Jelly Roll Pan/Flat Silicone Mold

INGREDIENTS:

2/3 lb Clear Melt & Pour Soap Base

1 lb Melt & Pour Soap Base- Triple Butter

2 tsp Bamboo Charcoal Powder

2 tbsp Rubbing Alcohol (+ more for spritzing)

2 tsp Kaolin Clay

2 tbsp Glycerin

10 drops Peppermint Fragrance Oil

PROCEDURE:

STEP 1: Remove the clear soap base from package and cut 2/3 lb. into 1 inch cubes. Place the soap cubes into a beaker and begin heating on hot plate or in microwave for 2 minutes and then 30 second intervals. Slowly stir while the product melting on hot plate or in between intervals in microwave.

STEP 2: Premix bamboo charcoal with rubbing alcohol and mix until combined.

STEP 3: Once soap is melted, remove from heat and stir in bamboo charcoal and peppermint fragrance oil.

STEP 4: Spray a flat silicone mold with alcohol spray, pour a thin layer and then spray again with the alcohol spray. Let sit for half an hour.

STEP 5: Remove the Triple Butter soap base from package and cut 1 lb. into 1 inch cubes. Place the soap cubes into a beaker and begin heating on hot plate or in microwave for 2 minutes and then 30 second intervals. Slowly stir while the product melting on hot plate or in between intervals in microwave.

STEP 6: While Triple Butter Soap is melting, premix the Kaolin Clay with the Glycerin.

STEP 7: Add the Kaolin Clay mixture to the Triple Butter Soap Base and stir.

STEP 7: Pour into soap molds and let sit for 5 minutes.

STEP 8: Remove the charcoal soap from the silicone mold, roll into a cylinder, and carefully cut into swirls.

STEP 9: Spray the top of white soap mold with alcohol and carefully place the swirl on top of the mold. Spray again and leave to set.

Makes 6-8 shaving bars

How to Use: Apply to wet skin, lather up and shave. Rinse thoroughly.
